The first snow transforms the Bavarian Forest into a fairy-tale landscape. While some forest dwellers retire to hibernate, for us it’s time to get outside! Whether cross-country skiing, ski touring, or winter hiking – in Bodenmais and the surrounding area, you will enjoy a fantastic winter holiday.
Ski through an idyllic landscape
The Bavarian Forest is a paradise for cross-country skiers. Around Bodenmais, you will find an extensive network of cross-country trails with scenic tours of varying difficulty levels. For the more athletic cross-country skiers, the cross-country ski centre at Bretterschachten is just the thing.
If you would prefer to ski or snowboard down the slopes of the Bavarian Forest, we recommend heading for the Silberberg or Großer Arber mountains. Afterwards, a visit to our saunas will help warm up your cold feet!
Winter hiking and more
Enjoy a delightful extended hike through the wintry landscape and snow-covered forests. If you don’t want to walk yourself, hire a horse-drawn sleigh – on crystal-clear winter nights, this is a real highlight.
